CARE at the Haring Center directly supports individuals with disabilities and their families, by providing evidence-based educational and therapeutic services.  

New and Ongoing Events and Information 

Networking Project (NEW!):  The Networking Project provides day programming for young adults with neuro-developmental disabilities.  It is a six week day program that aims to address adult transition and community integration challenges.  Informational Flyer Here  Project Application Here

 

Care for Individuals and Their Families

CARE provides evaluation, consultation and therapeutic services for children, teens and adults living with neuro-developmental differences.  Using a whole person / whole systems approach, staff work with families, educators and related professionals to address challenges with social relationships, academics, vocation and daily living skills specific to each individual.  
  • Sibshops:  Sibshops are available for 4 and 5-year-olds.   Information Flyer here
  • Summer Camp 2012: 2 summer camp programs designed for Preschoolers with Autism, and ALL children ages 6 - 10 years old. More information here.
  • College Life Group: Current and soon-to-be undergraduates are invited to join us to discuss the joys and challenges of college life in a supportive peer environment.  Informational Flyer Here.

  • Graduate Student Services:  CARE offers services for graduate students including: low-cost disability assessments, coaching, and graduate student groups.  Informational Flyer Here.

Support for Schools and the Broader Community

School and Agency Consultation:  CARE provides consultation, education and wide-ranging support for schools, agencies, and community organizations.  Services may include individual student consults with regard to the IEP and other accommodations,  team training and systems change support, and consultation on novel and empirically based practices in education, therapy and treatment.
 
Professional Development: For current professionals interested in expanding or improving their services, CARE provides customized consultation, workshops, on- and off-site training throughout the school year as well as Summer Series workshops across the state.
 
Journal Club:  An opportunity for Behavior Analysts to get together to discuss pertinent topics related to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, led by Ilene Schwartz.  Informational Flyer here and Registration Form Here

Internships and Practica

Opportunities for hands-on implementation of leading edge methodologies for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students are offered in the fields of:  Clinical and Educational Psychology; Special Education; Behavior Analysis (BCBA); Mental Health and Social Work.
